Farm Stop 101: Upcoming Educational Event
FARMWISE Indiana is excited to be a part of an upcoming event to be held in partnership with the Indiana Cooperative Development Center and the Indiana State Department of Agriculture, in Bloomington. Farm Stop 101 will bring together thought leaders in the areas of starting, building, and sustaining both farm stops and co-op’s, in an educational and fun format on October 20.
Farm Stop 101: A model that unites farmers market and grocery store
What: Day-long learning and touring event
Who: Designed for people and organizations who are interested in, curious about, or planning a farm stop for your community
When: Tuesday October 20, 9:30a - 3p ET
Where: Bloomington, IN
Cost: Free, includes event, materials, lunch, refreshments
What to expect: Meeting and learning in the morning, followed by lunch, followed by tours of farm stops, table and 1:1 discussions. You will learn:
About the Farm Stop model from farm stop operators
Opportunities for further training and ongoing support in Indiana
Business models and how to pursue them (Cooperative, LLC, Nonprofit, etc)
You will also have time to sit in on table discussions and have 1:1 time to ask questions of farm stop operators and organizations. You will tour 1-2 farm stops and be able to learn and ask questions during your visit.
Details on parking, location, and lunch will be shared with registrants.
A required registration ends on October 14 and is open to current farm stop operators, as well as farm stop admirers.
